2011/12 Dance Tuition Fees

Registration Fee
For all year-long dance students there is a $20 registration fee per student or $25 per family.  The registration fee will be waived for returning students that register by Saturday, May 21st.  There is no registration fee for 12 week sessions.

Monthly Tuition
Tuition is based on the total number of weeks of dance classes divided into 9 equal payments.
A minimum of 33 weeks of classes will be given.
30 minutes - $45/month 45 min or 1 hour - $48/month 1.25 hour - $55/month 1.5 hour - $62
DISCOUNTS for siblings or multiple classes - 15% off same or lesser priced lessons / 5% DISCOUNT for annual or bi-annual payments
Discounts cannot be combined


Recital / Costume Fee

No recital fee, but parents will need to purchase tickets (ticket prices last year were $8).
A non-refundable costume fee is required for year-long dance students and is due with November tuition

Child size costumes are $50.    XL Child and Adult size costumes are $60
Combo classes will only perform one dance style for the recital.
VIVID classes will perform all three styles in the recital.

Dance and Music Academy LLC POLICIES

Dance Registration
To register, we require that a parent sign these policies (electronic signature if registering online), a non-refundable registration fee of $20 per student or $25 per family, and the last month's tuition (April). The registration fee will be waived for returning students that register by May 21st. The first month's tuition is due August 1st.

Music Registration
To register, we require that a parent sign these policies (electronic signature if registering online), and make a $50 deposit to hold your scheduled lesson time. This deposit may be used towards the last month's tuition, recital tickets, summer lessons, or refunded if there is not a balance due at the end of the year. The first month's tuition is due August 1st.

Tuition
We do not send out monthly invoices.  'Tuition Due'  reminders will be posted in the studio.  A $10 late fee will be automatically charged to accounts not paid by the 8th.  Please arrange for your payment to arrive on time with consideration of holidays and school breaks. 
We have online payments available through PayPal on our website.  A PayPal account is not required to pay via PayPal. Discounts for annual or semester payments available.

There will be a $25 fee charged for checks returned due to insufficient funds

Dance Tuition
Tuition remains the same regardless of the number of weeks in a month or holidays, and will not be prorated for missed classes.  There are a total of 9 monthly tuition payments due on the 1st week of every month August-April.   Classes are given August-May and a minimum of 33 classes will be taught (picture week and rehearsals for the Spring Recital will count as classes).

Music Tuition
Please refer to the music payment schedule for a detail of how tuition payments are applied.  A full month's tuition covers 4 lessons.  A three quarter month's tuition plus the $50 deposit is due the first week of August.  There are a total of 8 3/4 monthly tuition payments which cover 35 lessons. Rehearsals for the Spring Recital will count as a lesson.

School Closings and Calendar
We follow the Cherokee County School District schedule for all weeklong breaks. We are open during all teacher workdays, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and President's Day. We also follow Cherokee County School District for any weather related closings or early dismissals to ensure the safety of our student and their families, and to avoid any last minute confusion. Please call the studio or check our website for updates on Saturday cancellations due to weather. Please print our complete school calendar for more details on picture day, rehearsals, and the Spring Recital.

Spring Recital
Our Spring Recital will be held at the end of May. Participation is encouraged, but not mandatory. We do not charge a recital fee, but parents will need to purchase tickets (ticket prices last year were $8). A non-refundable costume fee is required for year-long dance students and is due with November tuition. Child size costumes are $50 and XL Child and Adult size costumes are $60. Music or dance students joining after December may not be eligible to participate in the current year's Spring Recital.

Guitar, voice, and violin students may be placed in small groups for the Spring Recital.

Make ups for dance classes
If you miss a lesson in the Fall semester (Aug-May) you may come to any other like class if there is one available. Please check with your instructor for an appropriate make up class in the spring semester (January-May) as classes will be preparing their recital dances and it may not be beneficial to attend a class working on a different recital dance.

Make ups for Music Students
Music students may only make up two excused absences per semester (Fall: August-December, Spring: January-May). Proper notification (calling or emailing the office on or before noon on the lesson day) is needed to make up any missed lesson. Missed lessons without proper notification or that exceed two per semester will not be made up and the tuition for that lesson is forfeited. Our instructors depend on their earnings from lessons for their livelihood and these policies are put into place to respect their time. If you arrive late for a lesson, the teacher is only obligated to give instruction for the remaining time left as they may have lessons scheduled with another student immediately after.

Withdrawal
If you need to withdraw for any reason after the school year begins, you are required to give 4 weeks written notice prior to the date of withdrawal. Tuition is due during those 4 weeks. Billing will continue until written notice is received.

Other Policies for all students
1. Appropriate and courteous behavior is expected from students, parents, visitors and staff.
2. No children (students not already in class, siblings or visitors) may be left unattended at any time.
3. Students must be picked up promptly after their lesson.
4. For the student's safety, they are to remain inside the building while waiting to be picked up after lessons.
5. I understand that photos of my child(ren) taken in class, on picture day, and/or performances may be used in promotional advertising for Dance and Music Academy of Woodstock LLC. All photos, videos, or depicted likenesses are the sole property of Dance and Music Academy of Woodstock LLC, and I understand that we are not entitled to any profit that may be associated with the use of these photos, videos, or depicted likenesses.
6. To help control the spread of illnesses, please keep your child home if they are contagious.

Other Policies for Dance Students
1. Proper dress is required for all dance classes. Please refer to the dress code for your child's class. As a general rule, students should have their hair neatly pulled away from their face and off of the neck at all times. Please do not allow your child to wear large, hanging jewelry or large bulky cover ups in class. All shoes and dance bags should be labeled with your child's name. Toys or drinks other than water will not be permitted in the dance studio
2. Please make sure that you child goes to the bathroom before class starts. Leaving in the middle of class is a disruption to other students.
3. If you must enter late, please make sure that your child has on their dance shoes so that they can join in with the group without the teacher having to stop.

Assumption of Risk
By enrolling the minor or myself in this course I certify that I am aware of the possibility of injury in connection with the activities connected therewith. I understand and agree that neither the owners, operators, agents, or instructors, may be held liable in any way for any occurrence in connection with the studio which may result in injury or other damages to the minor, me or the minor's family heirs or assigns. In consideration of the minor enrolling in this course, I hereby personally assume all risks in connection with the course, and I further release the instructors, program agents, and operators, including but not limited to the persons mentioned, of any injury of damage which may befall the minor while the minor is enrolled as a student of the school, including all risks connected therewith, whether foreseen or unforeseen; and further, to save and hold harmless the program and persons from any claim by or on behalf of the minor or the minor's family, estate heirs, or assigns, arising out of the minor's enrollment and participation in the course.

Medical Emergency
In case of emergency or sudden illness, I hereby give authority to any hospital or doctor to render immediate emergency aid as it might be required for the undersigned students health and safety. Dance and Music Academy of Woodstock LLC DOES NOT carry medical insurance for its students. It is required that all students be covered by their own family insurance and if injury occurs, it is understood that the students own policy is your only source of reimbursement.
