Beat the Heat

Mr. Rick invites his students to join in on the fun of expanding and exploring the different aspects of Drums. “Beat the Heat Camp” places and emphasis on the experience of learning together and learning from each other in a music environment.

  • Practice techniques through endurance

  • Play various percussion instruments

  • Study rhythms, including world rhythms

  • Learn rudiments and song form

  • Drum tuning, setup and maintenance 

Camp Dates:   Monday - Friday, 5/28-6/1

Camp Time:   10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Price:   $250 per student

Bring:   Nut-Free lunch

Parent Observation Time:  Friday June 1st, 1:30 pm

Camp Dates:   Saturday 6/16, 6/23, 6/30 & 7/12

Camp Time:   10:00 am - 11:30 am

Price:   $99 per student

Ages:   13+

Requirements: Students should have a basic knowledge of music theory and be able to play at least one instrument. Please bring your instrument of choice (keyboard, guitar, ukulele etc.)

Parent Observation Time:  Saturday July 12th, 11:00 am

Write an original song at DMA’s Songwriting Workshop! You will learn the fundamentals of songwriting and gain confidence to continue writing long after this workshop. Explore various genres of music and what makes them unique. Each week will focus on a different element of songwriting such as: 

  • How to write lyrics

  • How to give them meaning 

  • How to compose a melody

  • What chords work best together  

  • And much more!

November 27th - 29th, 2020 at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center.


Competition dancers compete at regional dance competitions throughout the Southeast. We believe in healthy competition which encourages our dancers to work hard towards the goal of being their personal best. Competition Teams are chosen through audition.


DMA is thrilled to offer performance groups to enhance the music education of its students. Not only will young musicians improve their abilities, they will have the opportunity to implement the skills they have learned during private lessons into a performance setting.
